Session cookie
_filmcritique_session is a first-party encrypted cookie for authentication, form-security tokens and temporary messages. It expires after 12 hours, is HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Lax and is Secure on HTTPS.
Essential browser state
Keys beginning filmcritique:round: in session storage preserve an unfinished round identifier during retries and are cleared after settlement or when that tab's session ends. Keys beginning filmcritique:reminder: in session storage remember a dismissed session reminder for the current tab. They support requested gameplay and safety controls, not advertising.
Optional analytics
If you accept, Google Analytics (measurement ID G-X6LXBPKHCT) loads and uses first-party _ga cookies to measure visits and page views. Page URLs sent for measurement omit query strings and fragments. We do not use advertising tags or send account details as analytics events. Rejecting leaves the Google tag unloaded. Display, sound, speed and session-reminder preferences are stored with your account on the server.
Your choice
Your analytics choice is stored in this browser as filmcritique:analytics-consent so we can remember it. You can change or withdraw it at any time on Cookie Preferences. Withdrawing stops future page-view tracking, removes first-party _ga cookies available to this site and reloads the page. Clearing browser storage may ask you to choose again.
Browser controls
You can delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking the essential session cookie prevents login and may cause secure forms to fail. Signing out clears the authenticated session. Private windows may discard session information when closed.
Policy changes
If other optional tools are introduced later, their purposes, providers and lifetimes must be disclosed and the appropriate choice offered before activation. Questions can be recorded through Support.
